When the children are allowed to freely experiment and use paint and other materials in abundance they are able to learn what "enough" means. It doesn't happen today or tomorrow but eventually they learn to be very careful and conservative. However, if they are not allowed to go through this process of more, more, more, they never will learn "What happens if I".... Inventing new ideas comes from being able to freely experiment with your materials. I wonder how many light bulbs Thomas Edison used before finally achieving his goal of making one light up???

Wonder Arts: 10:30 Class PAINT PAINT PAINT!!!!!
All painting classes are so much fun for all the children and all the parents! I knew it was good when more than one child exclaimed, "This is the best day ever!" While many of the children have painted and done shaving cream before, it's a new experience again when other children are involved and new implements are presented. I love to see children sharing ideas and trying new things as they watch their peers interactions. This is the sort of "copying" that is so beneficial to children. All the parents in today's class were so cognizant of their child's intentions and were able to happily follow their child's lead. What do you see in these children's faces? I see Freedom! A sense of Awe! A wildness spirit! Nothing seems to be off the table in today's class! Yay!!!!!!!
