Meet Alison!

Hi! My name is Alison Cotter, and I am a mother of three kids aged 8, 6, and 4.  I grew up in the mid-west and moved to Clearwater, Florida right before high school.  I later graduated from the City University of New York with a degree in English Education.
I taught for five years in NYC, and also helped to start a program that eventually became a school.  I moved back to St. Pete in 2009 and have been a stay at home mom with my amazing kids for the past eight years.  Also, I was a Wonder Studio teacher for 4 sessions before traveling abroad with my family. Now, I am looking forward to getting back into the Wonder Studio and being able to share in the excitement of new discoveries and to be part of a community that learns and grows together!
My children have loved their years at The Wonder Studio.  I love Wonder Studio because it focuses on the creative process instead of the finished product, which allows children the freedom to explore, play, socialize, and experiment.  And, who doesn’t appreciate having a place to connect with other caregivers for some much-needed adult banter!
I believe that young children learn best through play, especially when the play is self-directed and based on their interests.  I also believe that they need the time, space, and support to pursue this play.

I’m thrilled to play a part in helping create this special time and place at The Wonder Studio.

  1. Allison, you are back?! I can't wait to see you and the kids. I hope we can cross paths soon and I can introduce you to my own as well. Congratulations on joining Shannon at Wonder Studio!
